The purpose of this policy is to give you a clear explanation about how Misk Global Forum collects and uses the personal information you provide to us and that we collect, whether online, via telephone, email, in letters or in any other correspondence.

Misk Global Forum is the flagship global platform of the Misk Foundation, a non-profit philanthropic foundation based in Saudi Arabia and established by Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman to discover, develop and empower Saudi youth to become active participants in the knowledge economy. This privacy policy covers all personal information collected and used by Misk Global Forum.  “Personal data” or “personal information” means information that (either in isolation or in combination with other information held by us) enables you to be identified as an individual or recognised directly or indirectly.  This includes the types of information set out below.

  • Information you give to us. We may collect information such as your name, address, email address and telephone number date of birth, age and/or gender, job title and employer when you:
    • sign up for our email lists;
    • engage with our social media
    • engage with content on our website;
    • register for an event
    • take part in competitions or surveys that we operate;

To accept applications to attend Misk Global Forum events, enter competitions or take part in other activities for which we would require personal information to register your interest. It is necessary for our legitimate interests and in order to perform our obligations under a contract with you to process personal information for the purposes of registering your interest for certain events or activities.
To communicate with event attendees and prospective attendees before, during and after our events to provide you with information about those events or to seek your feedback on events that you have attended. It is necessary for our legitimate interests and in order to perform our obligations under a contract with you to process personal information for the purposes of registering your interest for certain events or activities.
For administrative purposes (for example, relating to your attendance at an event or the data we hold about you in your personal user account). It is necessary for our legitimate interest to keep records of your personal details and update these when necessary. It is also necessary for our legitimate interests to keep records of any correspondence with you or any events you have attended in order to keep track of your details and preferences.
To analyse and improve the content and operation of our website and our internal business processes. It is necessary for our legitimate interests to process your personal data to improve our website offering and internal processes.

We will only use your data for these types of communications where we have obtained your consent or are otherwise allowed to do this.

Your personal information is intended for Misk Global Forum, and may be shared with third parties in certain circumstances. We may share your personal information with the following third party organisations:

  • Digital Marketing Suppliers;
  • Public Relations Agencies;

  In certain circumstances, we may be required to disclose or share your personal information in order to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation (for example, we may be required to disclose personal information to the police, regulators, fraud prevention agencies, government agencies or to judicial or administrative authorities). We may also disclose your personal information to third parties where disclosure is both legally permissible and necessary to protect or defend our rights, matters of national security, law enforcement, to protect your rights or those of the public.

The personal information that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”) (for example, Canada, the Middle East and the United States). It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for us or for one of our Service Providers. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your personal information is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Notice and applicable data protection laws, including, where relevant, entering into EU standard contractual clauses (or equivalent measures) with the party outside the EEA receiving the personal information.

We will retain your contact details for as long as you have an active relationship with Misk Global Forum and when you cease to have an active relationship with us or request to receive no further contact, we will remove the relevant information from our systems/records and/or take steps to properly anonymise it so that you can no longer be identified from it (unless we need to keep your information to comply with legal or regulatory obligations to which we are subject). We will retain all other information for as long as it is necessary for the purpose for which that information was collected and to the extent permitted by applicable laws. When we no longer need to use your information, we will remove it from our systems/records and/or take steps to properly anonymise it so that you can no longer be identified from it  (unless we need to keep your information to comply with legal or regulatory obligations to which we are subject). We may retain only the basic information required in order to avoid sending you unwanted materials in the future, and to ensure that we don’t accidentally duplicate information. We may use the personal data you share with us to match to your account on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn or other social media sites in order to show you Misk Global Forum content while you are using these services. Your personal data is kept secure at all times. We may also use your email address and phone number to link to Facebook or other social media sites in order to identify other users of these sites who we believe would be interested in Misk Global Forum, and we may then show them Misk Global Forum content. Information on how to stop this use of your personal data is given by each of the individual social media platforms in your user preferences.

Misk Global Forum uses and protects the data of EU citizens under the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).   • The right to data portability – You have the right to obtain personal information we hold about you, in a structured, electronic format, and to transmit such data to another data controller, where this is (a) personal information which you have provided to us, and (b) if we are processing that data on the basis of your consent or to perform a contract with you.
  • The right to object – Where the legal justification for our processing of your personal information is our legitimate interest, you have the right to object to such processing on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will abide by your request unless we have compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests and rights, or if we need to continue to process the data for the establishment, exercise or defence of a legal claim.
