Coronavirus Update from the Misk Global Forum
Firstly and most importantly, the thoughts of the Misk Global Forum are with all those affected by coronavirus in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and around the world.
These are challenging, unprecedented times and it is vital that we all work together to prevent the spread of this disease. That means acting responsibly to protect ourselves, our friends and families, and wider society.
It is with this imperative in mind that Misk Global Forum has made the decision to cancel or postpone the physical events we had planned for the first half of 2020. At present, our preparations for the Y20 Summit and Misk Global Forum annual gathering in October 2020 continue as planned. However, we continue to monitor the situation.
Since being founded, our mission has been to discover, develop and empower not just young Saudis. Our work has led us to connect with hundreds of thousands of people in Saudi Arabia and globally, particularly through innovative public events and community outreach. While we must pause this program for now, we will continue building bridges using our mutually supportive network of emerging and established leaders, innovators, and creators.
We now plan to use existing online tools, as well as establishing our own digital platforms, to bring this network together. This will allow as many of our initiatives, events and interactions as possible to take place remotely, while retaining interactivity and impact. Furthermore, a key part of our mission is to help young people around the world become active global citizens. So, we are also exploring ways in which our networks can have a positive effect on community and economic resilience during this crisis.
We will release further information on these plans as soon as we are able. In the meantime, please continue to engage with us on social media and keep yourselves safe.
